The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 33 year old man, Sama’ila Musa in Yan-Nabayye Village, Rimi Local Governmet Area of the state for allegedly locking up his two wives and chaining them for almost 10 months in a room within his house.
The two wives Fatima Salisu and Hadiza Musa were rescued by the State police after one of the wives’ mother complained the issue to them. The man who was arrested two weeks ago yesterday told police that he locked his wives because they use illicit drugs in his absence.
Weekly Trust reported that Sama’ila locked up the wives in a single room and forced them to defacated and sleep in the same room after shaving their hair. He also locked up his three children in a different room and used to beat them everytime he comes back to the house.
In addition to this, Sama’ila cuts off his pubic hair and nails and mixed them with pepper after which he forces the wives to eat. Whenever his sexual sexual desire arises, he would unlock whoever he wants to sleep with infront of the other wife and after he finishes he will force the woman to drink his semen.
However, Sama’ila denies the allegation that he forced them to do such things but admitted that he locked them up in the house because they use to take tramadol when he’s absent.
The two wives were taken to hospital by a Katsina based Non-governmental Organization for proper medical care while Samaila remains in police custody before he will be taken to court next week for violation of women rights.
